Famous Sites

Here are two great site from Ancient Egypt.

The Valley of Kings is another popular destination in Egypt. It is here that the ancient tombs of the Pharaohs lie hidden beneath the desert sands. It is located in the west bank of the Nile River, the Valley of Kings houses some of Egypt's most treasured monuments. The main attractions there are the tombs of Tutankhamun and Ramses II. These underground complexes feature captivating craftsmanship and a mysterious atmosphere that brings in tourists every day. The Valley of Kings contains 63 tombs in all, though some of them are not open to the public for tours.

The Sphinx, is a great stone carving of a lion with a human head that rests near the Giza Pyramids. It is carved out of a huge block of sandstone, and represents Re-Horakhty, an ancient Egyptian sun god. Visitors can go near the Sphinx, but not close enough to climb on it or touch its sides.
